I am working on a 99 dodge intrepid with a 2.7 and now I have replaced many of a spark plugs but I cannot find out for the life of me how to get the plugs out of this engine its not that I can't find them I am looking right at them but the socket will not fit down on the plug due to some little round piece of metal surrounding the hex part of the plug any help would be appreciated never seen anything like this.

 

i have the same car with the same engine and i just used a spark plug socket to change them the other day. That seems imposible what u r explaining. you hav to be able to get them out with a regular wrench.
