I have a 2003 Intripid 2.7 190,000 miles. The battery light is on at startup. If I drive for 15 miles and turn off the engin and restart, the light goes out and I believe the battery is charging. I know it could be the alternator or ECM. Any ideas?

yep them seem like good ideas there but what i'd do is use a elec meter and see what bat volts is like thare shuld be 14v and if the light is on and its not 14-15v then yall gotta prob like an alt going bad
