R-134a amount for recharging AC
My 2000 Intrepid has 2.7 l.
I'd like to know how many ounces of R-134a I need for recharging the AC. I wish to note that this is not about topping up but recharging fully instead.
Thanks for help

I believe it's 26 ounces. If you put in 2 twelve ounce cans, it'll work. I hope you're evacuating the system and taking a vacuum before charging. Ambient air left in the system has water vapor and that when combined with the freon is corrosive/damaging to your system. Pulling a vacuum causes the water vapor to boil off and then it's removed form the system. After you finish with the pump, close the manifold valves and wait a couple of hours to see if you're holding a vacuum. If your system won't hold a vacuum, it won't hold 250 psi head pressure and you'll be back to square 1.
Regrets if I've insulted your A/C expertise but thought I'd add the info for if you're like me, I hate to do things over again. Good luck.
