Default low idle help please

members i have a dodge intrepid 2000 engine 2.7. with the low idle issue . no check engine light!!!!!! am guessing is vacuum leak or a bad map sensor not reading right.. \

car symptoms are

cold start when engine is cold

low idle the idle is between 1-0 rpm

Check your compression. The idle should be between 0-1k so I'm assuming yours stalls at low idle.

I'm curious. Why would you check compression for a low idle condition? The idle speed is controlled by the pcm via the iac motor. I've been a master chrysler tech for 25 years and am wondering what I have been missing.

Because his post sounds more like a "runs poor at low idle" not so much a low idle issue. Anyway hard cold start is not a low idle. Might be fuel, vac, timing, comp, stuck egr etc.

I bet that some people just like to make up stuff because they have no friends then when they p.o enough people they change their id and start over with more goofy problems or non-problems. right m8?

I had the same problem with my car, what I did was I replaced
the IAC, my car starts up with no problem at all and the low Idle
is no longer low no more since I replaced the IAC,
it was not the the Map sensor..

Also its normal to have oil on the Map sensor.
