Default Cruise Control Issues

I have been having the same problem as "bowtieguy" had previously posted. Mine is a '02 2.7L. I will turn on the cruise control and it it will work for a minute, then it shuts completely off (indicator light, too) and will not come back on. Sometimes it works all day, but that is becoming more and more infrequent. It started about six months ago. At first it would just stop controlling the speed, I would just hit set again. Then it started to not work again until I had turned the car off and on again. ( Indicator light would stay on and would still cycle with on/off button.) I have checked connections, vacuum, relay, speed sensors... Any and all help anyone can give is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

I have a 2002 Chrysler Concorde LXi 3.5L and it's doing the exact same thing. I've been on forums as well trying to figure out what to do, but no success yet either. I did change the brakelight switch under the brake pedal and it appeared to work for a few days then it started doing the same symptoms again. If someone knows what to try here we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I have an 02 Intrepid, same issue, just off and on. I'm afraid it may be the clockspring in the steering wheel. Don't have any proof, just have not been able to tie anything else down. However I have a friend who has the same problem with his Ford truck and has had a trust worthy mechanic tell him he would bet it was the clockspring.
