Fuel pump bad or something else?
well i dont have the check engine light on no codes.... could it be the ignition switch???
how much does a map sensor cost in your area??? i dont know what else to check???
wow, you guys sure are chasing the OP around.
the fuel pump is a great place to start. the way to test is before even cranking, cycle the key 2-3 times. ON wait a couple seconds, off for second (repeat) then crank after the 3rd cycle. if it starts right away, you'll be needing a fuel pump.
KISS problem solving is the BEST way to go before chasing sensors, and throwing unneeded parts at the problem

Well, P301 code says CYLINDER #1 MISFIRE; MISFIRE DETECTED IN CYLINDER #1. Great - now what? I've replaced the boot, the plug and the wires are fine. Upon removing power from the battery, I have no check engine light for maybe a day or two. Then = Check engine light, P301.
so you threw a bunch of parts at it without any actual diagnosis. The proper method for this is to get the COMPLETE diagnosis directions for this code. It will include testing compression, fuel injector leak down, cylinder leak down and many other things. The factory service manual will walk you through a logical step-by-step diagnostic routine so you don't just toss arbitrary and unnecessary parts at it.
No, the diagnosis was not only from my own trouble shooting, a dodge dealer and this on line forum, but a local car parts dealer - who said the same thing. Even the Dodge Parts Dealer suggested buying an ignition coil at their price of $60.00 bones, AND AutoZone said the same thing - start little, and move up. Those manuals have no clarification on where to start for a P301 code-
So where does a do-it-yourselfer get all this great COMPLETE "factory service manual diagnostic chart" - diagnosis directions, and testing gear and tools for cheap - which show step by step roadmaps to success? I think you've moved on to "All Star", and should maybe not toy and entertain us "green mechanics" with arbitrary advice.
