Changing Radiator Hoses
I need to flush my rad, change upper & lower hoses and refill with new antifreeze. Will I need to move the painted panel (the part in which the hood latch is located) to change the hoses. Can anyone give me some procedures to do the job or issues to look out for. 2004 Intrepid Es with 3.5 l engine. Thanks
You will need to unbolt that panel so that you can shift it forward to get to the top hose, it been awhile since I did my 02. You don't need to remove the hood latch assembly.
I didn't have any luck with getting my hose from my parts house, they did not come close to being right for mine. Picked up a Dodge dealership, they weren't much more.

Thanks for your help. It worked out okay. Just one other thing. I was not able to find the radiator stopcock to drain the rad. When I asked several sources one told me driver's side another said passenger side. I put the car up on ramps and still could not find it. Someone else said don't bother you will destroy the o rings on it and then its a major job to replace those-instead remove lower hose to drain. Well that's not easy either. I bought one of those prestone rad kits where you cut into the heater hose and put in a "t" but couldn't find the heater hose either. Not only that when you flush through the "t" it's supposed to come out the rad but as you know the pressure cap is on the overflow bottle not on the rad. What I thought would be easy has turned into a real pain.
you did mention it in post 1.
there's some really nice tools for getting the hose clamps off. I bought one of these and it was a life saver!!
