Default 2002 dodge intrepid

My 2002 Dodge Intrepid is shifting irratically and a whining howling noise is coming from where the transmission connects to the engine does any body know whats wrong with it and how can i fix it. Thanks

The bellhousing is the part that connects the engine with the transmission. Maybe you need a new one of them?

Could be the Pump, that's inside of the transmission?

Maybe the torque converter is going bad, that part connects to the engine inside the bellhousing?

Did you ever check the transmission fluid level?
