Default 99 intredpid, a few problems

99 intrepid with 2.7l, i believe this is the 3rd engine in this car.
So, sometimes it starts right away, just like any other car would. But sometimes, it takes up to 10 seconds of cranking it over to get it to fire, then it will sometimes miss for 10 seconds or so after it start.

This happens warm or cold.
Check engine light is on, but i'm not sure how to check the codes. Autozone couldn't/ wouldn't give me a clear answer.

also the ABS light has been on for about 5k miles, after my GF (its her car) let the breaks grind into the rotors. Anyone else have any problems like this?

the long start up could be caused by a bad fuel pump check valve causing all the pressure to bleed down after you turn the key off. The only way to fix that is to replace the entire fuel pump module. The ABS light is probably on because when the brakes were grinding down metal to metal, it probably sent metal flakes/chips on the sensor interfering with the signal. Try cleaning the sensor (it's a magnet) off and reinstalling it and see what happens.
