lowering the seat in my 99 ’tr
hey everyone :O

*nods and handshakes*

i recently (finally) got my '99 intrepid that ive been lusting after for years. great car, low miles, amazing shape, etc etc. my ONLY beef with the car thus far is the drivers seat (and passengers seat too, but i dont drive from that side
) sit just a smidge too high for my 6'1" frame. if i sit where im comfy im looking through the tint strip at the top of the windshield, and if i slouch a little bit, reaching the steering wheel rips my arms out of their sockets. Anyone tried lowering the seats, or replacing them with some nice aftermarket seats?
someone told me that the stock electric seats will go a couple inches lower than my good ole fashioned lever job, but i dont want to go out and spend a couple hundred for a seat when theres a simple way to lower mine. I also considered just taking the seat out and plopping in a sparco racing seat or somthing similar, but im trying to make this as cheap and simple as possible so i can still afford the alpine sound system im in the middle of building :O

any sagely advice would be wonderful, and much appriciated!

thx

because im about an inch taller than the car was designed for! if i sit so im comfy i cant see traffic lights, and if i sit forward my knees are scrunched up
It would have to be custom I think... completely handmade...
To lower that is, getting new seats is the only 'safe' thing I can think of.

yeah, it woulda been as easy just to cut the brackets in half and reweld them, but the front of the seat mounts to a hump in the floor. its almost like they made the seat JUST so someone couldnt do what i wanna do lol that seems to be the only logical reason that hump is there lol
