we have a 2004 intrepid that for the past 6 months sometimes will start when you get in it and sometimes it wont. We have had it in the shop and have not had any luck finding any codes or anything wrong with it.

most of the time it will fire up in the morning and then when my wife gets in it to come home for lunch it will act up. It does crank but will not fire up. But if you let it sit for a while or try cranking 3 or 4 times then it will start. It seems that after the first time you crank it if you let it sit for a while then it starts.

this is driving us crazy. Could it be a cam or crank sensor? Anyone else have this problem?

Hi I have the same problem but I have a remote start after market installed by dealer and when this happens i use the remote start and it all ways starts but i would still like to fix the problem any help would be great thanks

 

Bigdogdad. We finally got the problem figured out. Turned out it was the cam sensor. $46 from carquest

Bigdogdad I did this myself. Took about 10 minutes. Let me know how it does. Our car acted up for about a year and it just kept doing it more and more. Then one day it finally just would not start. We had a mechanic put the scanner on it and it turned out to be the cam sensor lost the signal. Replaced it and no more problems
