Default P01776 - Repairs after replacing valve body and solenoid pack

I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid. Have code P01776. Replaced valve body and Solenoid Pack (twice, thought I might have got a bad rebuild from the dealer.) Drove car for 2 days with no issues then I threw the same code again plus a P0841 (Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance). The car has same symptoms where it goes into limp mode but it's sporadic. It doesn't happen every time I drive it or every time I slow down. I'm thinking it might be an electrical issue. Any idea's would help!

There was an issue with the solenoid packs on the reman valve body assemblies (same issue as the reason you replaced it) They fixed the issue, but there was a build date cutoff according to the TSB. I found that cutoff to be hogwash and ended up replacing the pack 2 more times. The 3rd time getting one that was built in 2011. The car has not been back in over a year. Problem is you can't see the build code unless it's out of the car. Not saying this is your issue, but it could be highly likely IMO. Of course you need to make sure there isn't any fluid contamination in or on your connectors, etc. See if the dealer will exchange it and pay close attention to the build date on the new one. In my case, I just changed the pack not the entire valve body. If they do any normal amount of transmission work there, they will be aware of the issues with these.

TSB# 21-008-04

**FOR 2002 - 2004 LH MODEL ONLY**

**If replacing the valve body assembly for DTC P1776 Solenoid Switch Valve Latched in
LR Position first inspect the build date on the solenoid pack. If the build
date range falls in between 3001 and 0603 replace the solenoid pack not the valve body**.

The first three characters are the day of the year, the fourth character is the
year, ie. 3001 is the 300th day of 2001.
The newer build will obviously have 5 numbers.
