1999 Dodge Intrepid Brake Problem
hi, My name is Jeff, and I am kind of a Dodge nut.
I recently purchased a 99 dodge intrepid that supposedly only needed new rotor, brake shoes and fluid.
Well, so far, I have put a new rotor, caliper, master cylinder, and all new fluid, but after bleeding the system, both by pumping and holding while I opened the bleeder screw, and then also with a vacuum pump, I have fluid at all wheels, pedal is hard, and brakes hold when you step on them and put them in gear, but you go out on the road with it, and the brakes go to the floor. I have been a backyard mechanic and learned on alot, and have done many, many, brake jobs, but this car has me bugged.
Anyone have any ideas? Need to get car on the road.
Thanks. JP
