Default feel safe in your Intrepid!

These are photos of my 16 year old daughters 2004 Intrepid. She was broad sided by a Firebird at an intersection. This was at a rural highway intersection so the bird was doing about 50 when he ran the red light,my girl took the full impact square in her door! She is all right except for some bumps and bruises and a concusion. This car did its job and protected my girl. She is already telling me to find her another one and I have no problem with putting her in another Intrepid, this car held up well considering the whole impact is in the drivers door!

For starters, glad to see/hear that your daughter is not only okay, but going to be just fine. Secondly, I'm glad to see a Dodge product do its job! That's a great thing to know the vehicle performed the way you expect it to.

Hopefully, she'll be able to find herself in another Intrepid, or another Dodge/Chrysler vehicle. Something to keep in mind is the Chrysler 300M and Chrysler LHS were basically the same car as the Intrepid....so they may be potential vehicles to look at if you have a hard time finding a decent Intrepid in your area.

I dont know what the insurance company's plan for your daughter's current car is, but you may consider trying to part the motor/trans/several other parts out and make some money off it. It could help finance stuff for the new car or even possibly give you some extra money back.

I'm glad your daughter is okay. i am very happy to hear how safe this car is. I'm always paranoid because i don't have side airbags, but to know the car does its job makes me feel that much safer. I'm a teenager myself.

I lost my Intrepid, I passed someone in heavy rain. I hydro-plained, turned backwards, hit mud and flipped into a ditch. My tires were near bald. I didn't get a ticket, because the redneck who kicked my window out with his steel toe boot (he helped me out of the of the car), let the cop know, I really could not control it.

I would have lost my life, but the fact that I wasn't wearing my seat belt saved me. My roofed caved in where I would have been sitting. Luckily, I landed upside down, on the other side, with 1 scratch on my knee.

Here are the pics from my wreck.
