Default Ok now this is really bugging me.

I have a 2005 neon sxt. Well you know, I thought "hey, newest model, must be the best right?" well I've been doing some research on performance parts as well as other various examples of modded neons and they all seem to stop at 2004, that includes part, even from mopar.com which is the dodge performance site. Is there something that sets the 2005 apart from the rest that leaves it unmoddifiable? Because I never see anyone doing anything to 2005's, it's always 2004's and below so if anybody has any information or input or if this is just a coincidence that is well......wide spread... I'd really like to know, thanks.

all parts that work for pretty much 2003 will work for a 2005....

Nothing changed.

As a matter of fac pretty much nothing (engine wise) changed between 2000 - 2005

I suppose i'll take your word for it. It's just that you know, the parts are always listed 03-04 or 00-04 but never 05 so I don't want to spend money on a piece just to find out my engine isn't going to cooperate with it

its the same exact thing. if a place doesnt have something listed till 05 then they probably dont know what they are talking about and i wouldnt buy from them. www.modernperformance.com is the best and www.howellautomotive.com is also pretty good. i believe tha alternator on an 05 is better but thats the only diff i know of

When sites say things like that it just means either they dont know what they're talking about, or they havent updated there sales pages since the 200x model year Neon came out. Pretty much all performance parts are interchangeable between the 00-05 Neons and even many SRT-4 parts as well...

ah good good... ok well i went down to the dealer the other day and asked them about my warranty. They said that bolt-ons, even an air intake could possibly void the entire coverage of the engine since it tinkers around the with the running of the engine. They said that the only parts that wouldn't void the warranty are "factory approved" parts. Any idea about those? like where I can find them and what companies are "factory approved" by dodge? I know mopar is one because they make it. However while i was talking to one person, they said K&N was factory approved and then another person said no so I am still very very confused. Any ideas?

I think mopar can void also. I heard that the stage kits for the srt-4s are like that

I read up and specifically highlighted a section of the warrantee that allows you to use CAI's without voiding warrantees. It says somewhere that the only parts that void warrantees are everything past the Throttle Body to the end of the Exhaust.

basically the intake is not covered in the warrantee policy given to you.

Just FYI

Modifications themselves cannot void a warranty. However, if the said modification causes damage to the engine (say a CAI sucks up water and hydrolocks your engine, unlikely, but it happens) that would not have happened with the factory installed component then the dealership can choose to not honor your warranty agreement.
