ok so i drive my dodge neon sxt 03 every day all the time and i never have any problems, accpt the water leak like everyone from the back window or somehting, but i parked my car today where i always park it in front of my house, and when i went back 5 mins later and the key wont turn, the electric all works, but... the key will not turn, the brake is suuuuper hard to press in, and doesnt go in all the way, also.... the gear shifter this is an automatic, will not go anywhere other than park, not forward or back its stuck in park and the key wont turn, the lights and all electronics work, but they key will not move, the key goes in and out clean but will not turn at all, there is no clicking or rough sounds like they mechanism is broken or somehting is loose, just will not move, also the streering wheel is hard to move... but is not locked,


please help, i have to go on a trip tomorrow morning and would love to drive my car

Are you absolutely sure the steering wheel isn't locked? I would really mess with it if I were you. I think that's what happened to my car the first day I got it. haha.

 

yeh ive turned the wheel all the way left and all the way right. and nothing, if it was locked though.... how would i go about fixing that problem? i dont know what to do there either, it says in my manual to just gigle the key and turn the wheel and i have for an hour, and still nothing, it also says to start the can and then deal with it, but i cant even start the car, cuz the key just goes in and then will not move forward in rotation or back

the tumbler is prob broken or messed up. id call the dealership and see what they can do about it and prob hav it towed there. thats one kind of thing you cant fix
