i just got an 05 neon sxt and i wanna get some performance out of it. My friends have a wrx and a highly modded gti and i wanna atleast keep up on trips. The first thing i want to do is put on an exhaust, i was wondering what the best one i want a daul tip. Any help can be good just wondering whats best for some ponies and also how to get around the ngc or w.e its called so i can atleast get some power. thanks

 

i would go with the SRT-4 dual exhaust it should fit right on there.

 

magnaflow is a good exhaust. only way around ngc is full standalone like megasquirt

 

yeah...your not going to be able to get around the computer unless you get a standalone like mikey said....performance mods are simple start here: https://dodgeforum.com/m_665840/tm.htm thats a list of mods and what they will do along with instructions thanks to our great leader -03neonrt- lol....anyway...i would highly suggest a CAI, 60mm throttle body, comp 400 cam, and underdrive pulley for starters...

 

its goin 2 b a while until u can keep up but wen u do they will b surprised.

 

what does the megasquirt do and how much. can some one pls explain to me what the deal with the computer is becuase im confused lol. isnt it pointless to put on mods because the computer just resets it back to its normal horsepower

 

read the megasquirt faq at the top of the 2nd gen thread page......no your computer is never set back to reg horsepower but it is also never programmed for the new horsepower....horsepower can be attained just by lightening the underdrive pulley...the computer cant handle more fuel from bigger injectors though...or cant handle alot of boost from a turbo...things like that...plust the computer keeps you from doing excess speeds of 120 and that is the major reason people get a diff. computer (megasquirt) to run on..

 

so i can still gain horsepower and make my car fast with the computer my car has but if i wanna go over 120 i need it. sorry im younger and just got my first car the 05 dodge neon so im new to all this
