i have an 05 dodge neon. and its has that like bar panel on the bottom half of the doors, i was wondering if it was possible to take those off i think it mike look better the srt-4 doesnt have them

 

Yea, You can on a really hot dayor get a heat gun to melt the sticky glue on the the strip. Get a Credit Card or something flat to remove the Goo. And some Goo Gone would work.

 

it wont damage the side or leave any marks will it? has anyone done it?

 

Lots of people have removed their side molding, I'll probably be doing mine this summer. Depedning on the age of the car will determine how much, if any, fading you'll have underneath the molding....if you take it off and the paint has faided, just leave it outside in direct sunlight and it will eventually go back to normal.

Just make sure you take your time...

 

i actually took my moldings off about 4 months ago, i used a heat gun and some Goof Off. Worked great but RT is right TAKE YOUR TIME. The paint was not faded at all

 

I also wanted to do this but afraid of how it would look since I have a custom paint job the paint woudnt match underneath or would it matter . Any pics with the molding off that we can see. Does it look alot cleaner.

 

 

 

I took my side molding off not to long ago with a putty knife and didn't leave any marks. Just put it right up to it and start hitting the handle, did it to the side moldings and all the Dodge things. Was easy and funny.

 

I did this also..Take your time..I used a credit card after peeling the molding off..It helped get the goo off that was left behind..I also used some carb cleaner to, It didnt take the clear off..Dont worry..
