Yes, I heard that back in the 90s when I was looking at a neon.
As the person said to me " If you get in a crash, you will lose your Ne- on (knee on) down."

But, I bought one anyways (a 2000) and it has a 4 star front crash rating...not too bad!

 

Well you guys havent heard but the lastest news on any yr neon is the 2nd worst vehicle to have an accident in. It was online news the other day.

 

Drive fast take chances. Lol.Just kidding, but really just because of the worst crash rating, doesn't mean I'm going to go sell my car and buy one with a better rating--about to be done with college and don't have a perpetual salary just yet, I can't afford to do that. Just drive safe and make sure I don't get in an accident and that'll keep me from losing my legs. I like the Neons and I wouldn't give it up even for bad ratings.

 

I wouldnt either my neons are stayin around for along time . Im pushin 84,000 miles pretty soon and have more and more plans for both.

 

they arent that bad!! i got in a front end collision in mine, i hit a ford ranger cuz of a retarded semi driver, and nothin happend. I actually didnt feel it that much...my airbag didnt deploy which kinda worried me haha but its all good. Im still drivin her!!! I love my neon, legs gettin chopped off or not, neons kick ***!!!
