i was drivinyesterday just cruisin around wen i saw a huge plastic bag. i was goin to avoid it but i couldnt so ijust went over. i looked in my rearview mirror to c if it came out through da back but it didnt. well i pulled over 1 minute later and i looked under my car and i saw da plastic stuck to da exhaust. it melted onto da exhause so i took off wat i could. well now wen i drive i could smell plastic burnin. my gf thought my car was going to burn up or sumtin but i told her wat happend and now my car smells alot. i guess i have to wait till it burns off or melts off. have u guys ever had any similar expiriences

 

haha almost a few times. ive heard of it before. if you want, wait until the car is completely cool... then wait a few more hours lol because the exhaust can get so hot it will burn your skin off, then just scrape it off

yup, same suggestion. let it cool, climb under there and start scraping

 

yea i had this happen on my first neon. it doesnt completely burn out for a long time ,and all i got was this burning plastic smell for two months until i scraped it off but since i waited so long the smell lasted for 3 more weeks. cause i couldnt get it off completely.

 

never but i i have ran over alot of them and hoped they would go out the back end and everytime they did just hope i never run into that problem just start scraping man

 

ima try to scrap it off, i need to put my car up in blocks and then jack up da car wit dis hot weather, darn

 

Probably a useless reply since not many have access to the same chemicals i do, but using Sem Solve melts plastics, adhesives, etc. The bag thing has happened to me twice, got desperate after the first time's smell stuck around for a couple weeks and covered the second in Sem Solve. Melted it to goo in about 30 seconds and i wiped it off with a rag.

 

Lol that sucks...ever since I lowered the R/T i accidentally run over the random smashed beer box, or a plastic bag from time to time...but I never got anything stuck to or melted to the underside of my car...
