Default 2000 Neon-5 Speed Stuck In Reverse

Hello everybody! well my first post here is not a good one, so here it goes. I have a 2000 Dodge Neon, 5 speed. Today when I went to pull out of my parking spot I did so and in the process tried tp put it in 1st gear and I couldn't. The only thing it will do is go in reverse. The gears don't shift around like they normally should either. Is this a common problem with these? It has higher miles with 110,000 on it. It was running absolutely fine until this happend today. There was always a minor clunk when I put it in reverse but didn't think anything of it. Anyways, do you have any idea what copuld have happend? Thanks!

dont know what happened...but at that mileage you need to look into getting a new clutch and getting your transmission fluid changed.

Ck your shift cables at the transmission, there two cables and they have c-clips holding them into the brackets.
