Default Turbo question.

Okay so I want to go turbo on my SXT, is it more cost effective to do the SRT4 turbo swap, and consider that I have a house that I pay for, a car payment, insurance for myself and fiance, blah blah blah your basic bills, or should I just go for the turbo on the motor now, running 3 or 4 lbs of boost? I don't want it to be lightning fast, but a little extra would be cool. I had turbo on my 94 Integra that I did myself, had to make the header from scratch and had a Greddy T3 on it running at 4 lbs and it was a good set up, but there is little room in the compartment on the SXT so I don't want to go into fabricating my own parts. What, in someones opinion, would be my best route to go here? Again I don't need it to be lightning fast, I don't race anymore, just would like a little more.

Thanks everyone!

Buyer beware 1st of all . you can find a srt donor ride pretty cheap like around 3 to 4 grand and little mods if its stock you can find on ebay or srt forums pretty cheap and I would just stick with little mods like a wastegate, sts of somwkind , motor mounts, catch can, intake , booger bushings and maybe a map clamp you could get like 250 to 300 hp with all those little mods . Good luck if you do the swap .

So you would recommend the SRT 4 swap as opposed to dropping in a bolt on to the SXT motor? I'd probably save the headache of internals I would think too if I just did the swap. Is it a difficult swap?

No Ive heard its pretty simple but takes a few days or even a week just depends but since youve done your own turbo on you teg than your do ok. Youll have to do a tranny swap also if you have an auto like I do . See Im pretty much happy with my sxt and only doing show mods done with the engine mods just waiting on my last of them to come ups .

Well here is where I sit, I've done all my own turbo on my Integra, and I want to do it on the car, I'm keeping the car past a year but not for me it will end up being my Fiance's cause we are buying a Charger R/T next year, we had the money, just didn't have the credit yet so we went with the Neon. My problem is I always have to be working on a car as a project lol, my own downfall. So I'm trying to decide if I just go with visuals, or just do the turbo or swap. And yes mine is an auto, it's the ONLY Neon they had at the dealer we went to. And also the only Dodge dealer in our area.

I would do the swap and a little exterior mods also . You can switch out seats and get the viper ones from your donor srt4 . I would go with some nice tails and you can always use the srt rims and get some tires to go with them and paint them the color you want the rims I mean. Ive been wantin to do the swap but went for show mods instead.

Yeah I think I'll do the swap, especially if it's not too hard of a swap to do, I'm just kinda cringing at swapping the tranny from auto to stick, I've nver done it. I've got some tails in mind, and also some headlights that I want to use. I was thinking about just using the SRT rims as well. Have you done, or know anyone that's done the auto to stick conversion?
