Default 2000 2.0l 16v work with 2004 SX2.0?
Hi all,

I was wondering if a 2000 2.0l 16v motor with auto tranny, would fit in my car a 2004 2.0l 16v 5Speed. I would want to keep my 5speed, but would the hook up be compatible? cause the other car is an auto?

Any help is appreciated!!

no different crank triger you have too do a 2003+ motor

So If i wanted to swap I would have to use my old crank trigger? Is that a big deal do you think?

see on 03 motor crank triggeris in a total different location so the motor is little different and it would take ton of custom fab work too make it work

and there area also some other different sensors i think, just look around for the 03+ it will be wayy easier

That sucks cause I found a 2000 with only 61,000 for dirt cheap.

I'm not positive but isn't it not legal to put an older motor into a newer car? Again I'm not sure about that but I've heard it, could just be rumor. And yes would be way easier to get the 03+

yea if u swap an older engine into a newer car, u wont pass smog. it has to b from da same year or younger.
