Some guy is selling some dropzone lowering springs on Craigslist that are for a1st Gen neon for cheap. I was just wondering if they'd fit my 05 SXT.I mean, it'd be nice, causeIreally dont wanna drop $225 on eibachs right now.

stock 1st gen neon springs will lower a 2nd gen about 1 inch, so i dont see any reason that those springs wouldnt work....though it would give your car about a 3 inch drop

Don't. Save your money for springs of proper design and length for your car.

So, we have one "don't" and one "go for it if you wanna be lowered 3 inches."

Anyone else wanna throw in their two cents worth?

I think the Skunk2 springs on my 05 SXT are for the 1st gen and I havent had 1 problem with them.

So does that mean that any springs for the first gen will fit a second gen?

I wouldn't go with a 1st gen sprin on a second gen. Yea sure, they will work and they will lower it... and if thats all you want you can. But ride comfort, reliability, all that jazz comes into question. I don't care waht anybody else has done or says. When it comes to suspension do your homework. Find the springs you want and the struts you want. Don't rush into anything that you will regret.

The springs I have say there for 1995-02 neon so I guess they are for both gens? They ride quite nice, dont get me wrong it is a stiff ride but if there was alot of give it would be bad as my rear tires are up in the fenders. As for handling I havent found anything that will out corner my neon since I put them on. Cant speak for all springs but the Skunk2s are great.
