Well mine arent the bad hids that everyone gets they are gold and blue bulbs they are hid bulbs not the real kind that are too expensive for me . I paid like 40 bucks for my bulbs . They say hid like bulb on the package. So they arent blinding bulbs like most they are pretty cool lookin I get so many compliments from them and in the good way.

Its bad as in your headlights were not designed to be fitted with HID's, and that it will blind oncoming drivers because of the glare produced by the HIDs.

The brightest halogen bulbs you can purchase before going HID are Xeno-Match bulbs that operate at 4200K, after that, you have GE Nighthawks (3800K), then Silverstars (3600K). Then theres obviously some in between there, but those are the big three. Anything with a coating on the bulb will only reduce overall light output.
