Ok, if your willing to really work on the tuning, meaning, spending 100+ hours tuning the fuel and spark control, and your not excpecting to go over 400whp/wtq, then I would say build up the 2.0 and do the HRC turbo kit, whichever stage you want. If you go this way you will also need to upgrade the axles, clutch, install an LSD, among other things.

If you dont want to waste your time on the endless tuning and having to upgrade axles, LSD, clutch, etc then I would say go the SRT-4 swap. The 2.4 is going be much more reliable then the 2.0 with the more power you add, plus, the T850 is stronger and has a lot more parts available.

Cost wise, the SRT-4 swap is going to be cheaper, plus, you have the Mopar Stage Upgrades that can get you some nice power without having to tune fuel and spark with aftermarket methods.

Dont get me wrong, I'm all up for building up the 2.0 and making a badass SOHC Neon that can kick the *** of most SRT-4's, BUT, if you dont want to spend all your time tuning and this car is still going to be your DD, then go SRT-4 swap.

I only spent like2 grand for everything for my 1st gen for the hahn stage2 kit and all mods to go with it which wasnt much and it was brand new from a guy locally that wreaked his 1st gen before he could do the turbo project only took my husband and I a couple of days for that turbo project and shes fast just as fast as a srt4 and other rides. Good luck if you do go the srt swap way finding a decent engine is crap .

i see buying the hahn as a learning experience. its brand new, you know how it is and where it came from, and you learn alot, and of course you have the power. remember too, its not always the car as much as it is the driver. so im sure you could kick someones ***
