Hey guys.. been reading.. the CAI is sopose to be mounted in the wheel well? is there any way to just mount it in the front of the engine bay? or does it need to be in the wheel well?

ALSO: is there any good detailed instructions on doing a CAI? i found one tutorial and found it hard to follow even though it had many pics (black and white tho)..

 

so the SRT4 wires will work on just a 01 neon LX??

Hey man.. Thanks for thoes links but manily looking for stuff off ebay bascause its cheaper and i have a bit of giftcertificates to use.. I was woundering if thoes SRT4 wires would work??

I really think you should go with the same kind msd wires from modern performance to be on the safe side you wouldnt want to spend that much and have them wrong you only have to spend about 5 more bucks to get the right ones . Ebay is crap for not returning stuff.

Installing a CAI is easy as hell. You unscrew the stock airbox, put the piping on the Throttle body and voila. Then you get to **** your pants everytime you hear your wheel hitting your cai! Try not to turn the wheel too much when you're reversing. Which is about everytime you park.

I was somewhat nervous installing my cai cuz it was my first mod. But trust me it's easy as hell and you get it down in about 10 minutes when you're in a rush cuz you know it's gonna rain.

 

yeah imma kinda changing my mind now of installing a cai since it seem that the neon dosent have nuting to dodge the water from the cai

 

Ive had my ebay custom intake on since I for my sxt new in 04 and also have a ebay intake in my hahn stage2 1st gen so I had no problem installing either of mine and I had a injen intake in my acr srt4 before i sold her. I love intakes.

theres the link to the exact one that i bought.. It doesn't really look like its long enough or whatever to fit into the wheelwell.. thats why im not really understanding it..

Can someone just confirm i have the right one adn i will look and work alright?

PS: Just reread the auction and it says it will fit only the neon without ABS.. im not sure if mine has ABS.. im away at school right now and was hopping to get this all installed and stuff on the next weekend i go back..
