How big can i go for tires and rims?

i got an 01 neon and i want to buy rims for it. i found a set of 17" rims with 205 40 17 tires. Does any one know if they will fit inside the wheelwells. i have got different answers from different people. thanks

those should fit fine. what is the offset of the rims

thanks they are Size 17x7 and Offset +42.

Cant remember if mine are +35 or 42 but I think either will work good.
