I just spoke with my daughter, she only had half day of school today. She says the accelerator is much better and she is happy with the way it is working.

For some reason the CAI seems to soften the gas pedal. I don't know how else to say it. Of course if you hit a big *** puddle you'll be really screwed.

whats a CAI? and by the way i have hit a big puddle. i had to replace my engine 
my gas pedal is hard as well. not just that. my engine feels as if it wants to stall but never does and shakes the car every time i come to a stop. if i put it in neutral it stops the shaking.
and suggestions. 4 different people have told me its the transmission.
please help.

I got my daughter a 2001 Neon 4 door 2.0 auto. The gas peddle is really firm. So much so that when you try to accelerate, it is hard to add just a little gas. It will resist and when you push harder, open suddenly too much.
I replaced the throttle cable and the Transmission kick down cable but it is still firm.
Any Ideas? Has anyone else had this problem?
