Default HOW TO DO:FLIP/FLOP TRUNK!!REVISED

AIR WOLF THESE AINT YOUR INSTRUCTION BUT A BUDDY OF MINE IN L.A. SENT THEM TO ME !!
Flip Flop Trunk Modification

(slight variations with some years)
Tools Needed:
10mm Socket or open end wrench
Cut-off wheel or similar
Scissors
Sharpie Marker
Masking Tape
A nice Clean area
Small Silicone Tubing(optional)
Razor Blade(optional)
Lock-Pins(optional)

1. Using Sharpie Marker, Draw a ring around the head of all your stock bolts.

2. Using a 10mm socket or open end wrench, carefully remove all 4 stock bolts that hold your trunk on. Remember, once you get all the bolts out, there won't be anything holding your trunk, so having a buddy to help hold it is a good idea.

3. After removing the bolts and wire harness, Lay the trunk lid on a nice clean surface as to not scratch it all up.

4. If applicable, remove Trunk Lid Carpeting.

5. Now that carpeting is removed, Make your cut marks on the brackets with the Sharpie. Just follow up the sides as you see shown in the picture, and the top should be just above the top bolt hole location.

6. It is a good idea to go ahead and mask the area where you don't want to cut just to make sure you don't go crazy with the cutting.

7. Start Cutting.

8. When you are finished cutting, remove the masking tape and take a look at your work. If your lines are not straight, clean them up by trimming.

9. Repeat steps 5-8 on the other bracket.

10. Now that you are finished cutting, it's time to cut the carpet to match.

11. Cut the carpet to match the cuts you made on the brackets.

12. You will notice in the picture that this looks a little raw, and not very clean at all. This is where the Silicone hose and Razor Blade comes in handy.

Optional Steps
1. Split the hose down one side with the razor blade being careful not to cut yourself.

2. Route the split side of the hose around the cut edge of the bracket and carpet, and poof.....now it's a nice clean install.

Now for the flipping.......

Re-install the trunk lid, but only put in the top bolt on each bracket, then simply tilt your trunk lid down. Now wasn't that easy.
Right now, I'm using all 4 stock bolts when I don't want the trunk flipped, I just take out the bottom 2 when I'm at a show or whatever. If you want to, you can either find some lock pins that are the same size as the bolts and use them in the bottom holes, or you can just find a couple lock pins and drill holes for them.

This mod does take some playing around with to get your trunk to be flush with no gaps when it is closed unless you use all 4 stock bolts when you want to close it.

These are the basics, and enjoy your modding. By no means is this the only way to do this, but it is the best that I have figured out so far. If you do decide to do this mod, please be careful, and don't blame me if you screw something up....... Have Fun.

My husband looked this over and said his way is the simple and easy route and this style is harder and might ruin your trunk .
