Electrical Problem?
Hi all,
My fiance went to start her 2002 this morning and nothing from the engine (no noise, that i could hear at least, etc). However, the very wierd part was the guage cluster. The guages would peak and retreat and move all over with no rhyme or reason. The dome light came on and the milage came on, however the stereo never turned on. Has anyone ever encountered such a problem? I dont think the battery is dead b/c of the dome light, etc being on (no lights left on over night). I am thinking its a short, but I have never seen a car act this way before. Let me know if any of you have seen this and what the remedy might be. Thank you.

have you done anything to the car lately? change a headlight bulb... anything?
Check the basics first... fuses. Clean all battery terminals and re-attach. Is the car turning over at all? The battery could have enough juice to light the dome but not enough to crank over the motor. Any clicking noises when trying to start the car?
