bump

 

ok guys i just recently found out that at the shop i took my car to, to get my ebay coilovers (worst buy ever)installed, they said they had to take off the shock insulator (looks like an acordian tube that protects the shock). where can i get this, they "threw" mine away! i took off the one of the front struts recently just to take a look at it and all that was there was the lil rubber stopper (not sure what its called). im afraid to see what its missing in the rear because whenever i go over uneven road or turn, the rear rattles and sounds like its hitting somethin. HELP PLEASE!!!! lol

 

or does anyone have a diagram of what the struts are supposed to consist of...RT posted everything you would need for complete suspension but im not too familiar with the suspension so a diagram (maybe from a repair manual) would be extremely helpful!! thanks all any help is appreciated

 

wait min you got plain coil overs or the 960. dollar coilover strut!? i still got my coilovers in my car and i dunt have the boot on it dosent affect the ride it just a dirt cover hows ride dose it feel like a mack truck hit you..

 

it did, but i have lowering springs now not coilovers. they were the cheap ones off ebay, it felt worst than a mack truck lol, but now its somewhatbetter, i'm sure it will be even nicer with the Tokicos. gonna get an early start, my friend and I are going to install the front today and rear tomorrow hopefully. ill let you know how it goes. I was gonna take pics of the install but can't find my camera!

 

try to cut your bump stoppers in half and yea wit no struts you get a better ride b/c will have a longer shaft i think no homo lol and it wont hit as hard but theres always spring booster to stiffing the ride how low did it go got pics?

 

i have some from when i got the car, springs were heated!!! even worse than coil overs, one with the coilovers, one with the springs, and ill take one with the springs and new struts when i get a chance. ill post em as soon as im done with the struts tonight, wish me luck on a smooth sailing install!! lol

well we got the struts installed in the front....PAIN IN THE ***. mainly it was a pain in the *** because as i said in another post i had, my gf was driving my car and hit a curb causing one of the struts to leak really bad....it was really difficult to take off the shaft retaining bolt because everytime we could put some vice grips to hold the shaft would slip because of all the gunk from the shock. all in all we got it on, hopefully correctly lol, all that is supposed to go on the shaft (lol) is the bump stop right??

 

yea and all the rubbers that were on you can also cut the bumpstopper in half hows the drop in the front!?
