Hi there folks new to this here site and hoping it turns out to be a good stay. I have been tweeking and moding my Dodge Neon since buying it last winter but i can only do so much cuz it seems that there isnt much out there. Anyway I was hoping that being Dodge fans perhaps someone out there might know if there are any magazines and or books devoted to Dodge neons and Aftermarket parts for them. Hey mustangs and corvetts have their own books do Neons have them too? If you know of anything please let me know!

what? I think you missed a few periods and other english punctuation in that there reply.

I think what he intended to say was that:

Neons were meant to be family sedans. They were peppy but a 2.0 sohc only produces so much power. You can find a wide variety of parts at retailers such as: Modernperformance.com , moparsupercenter.com , dodgeparts.com , howellautomotive.com , and sometimes ebay.com . Don't be afraid to ask questions because we at dodgeforum know quite a bit when it comes to the ol' neon.

Oh, to answer your question about the neon magazines... no. There is nothing for neons out there magazine wise. You can find one or two neons in tuner magzines... but they are all rice burners.

i'm gonna have to add my two cents here... I will agree to a point that some neons were designed as a cheap economy family sedan.

But please know your neon history! The "true" ACR came out in te neons first production. And i say "true" because the SRT-4 ACR is junk. Yes its got the ACR suspension, but that is where it ends!

First-generation Neons are highly competitive in SCCA Solo autocross.[1] Available with both the SOHC (sedan) or DOHC (coupe) the ACR was one of the most competitive in its class, and featured four-wheel disc brakes, Arvin non-adjustable struts for 95-96 models and Koni adjustable dampers for 97-99 models, thicker anti-sway bars, fast-ratio steering, heavy-duty front wheel hubs, and a 5-speed manual transmission with a numerically higher .81 fifth gear and final drive ratio of 3.94 for quicker acceleration. 1995 through 1997 models featured adjustable camber. The computer-controlled speed limiter was also completely removed from 1995 ACR models, and raised from the standard 190km/h (118mph) to 210km/h (130mph) for subsequent years. The ACR offers no badging to distinguish it from other Neon models; the only visible difference is a bumper with fog light holes, but no fog lights. In 1995, the ACR was only offered to SCCA members, but in subsequent years it was available to the general public. The name "ACR" was initially the internal ordering code for the "Competition Package", as it was termed in dealer materials; however, as knowledge of the model spread, the ACR name stuck, and backronyms such as "American Club Racer" were given to it by fans.
No AC, no radio, no power anything and cost less than the standard model... that is a true ACR.

TheNeon ACR has been one of the most successful grassroots racer ever, with over 20 National titles in Solo and Road Racing to its credit.

Shortly after its introduction in 1994, grassroots racers discovered the Neon's potential on the track, thanks to its sporty, quick and fun-to-drive attributes, and the idea of a special racing edition Neon was born. The introduction of the Neon ACR (American Club Racer) in 1994 was aimed at Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) drivers. Neon ACR models won three consecutive national titles in SCCA Class C Showroom Stock events from 1995 to 1997.

Hi there thank you all so much for responding to my post. As for mods done to the car were basic and strait forward mods...New plugs wires from ACCEL and a new coil pack for starters. I couldnt at the time find a good air intake setup for the car so i Ripped out the oem setup and fitted a strait pipe in between the throttle body and the manifold and swapped out the throttle body with the first gen one. I then ran tubing to the front of the car where i fabbed a sheet metal scoop for air ram. thats as far as I got when my brother suggested i take the 318 crate I have and stuff it in the neon and convert to rear wheel drive. Not sure what to do and would like to do something to show them rice burners what a hungry neon can do!
