Default Back pressure

For those with glasspacks and SRT rear sections...

Does it matter if we have the srt section on or not? Like can i run it without the tips?

can u give me a lil more detail. Are u talking about not running the exhaust from glass pack to the srt rear section, or just not running the srt-4 exhaust. I think the car woudn't run right if the exhaust was disconnected from catalac converter back i learned that with the civic . If just the srt rear section is disconnect the exhaust would be loud as ish and sound like rice. I think it might also cause a loss off power in the low end. not sure tho. Wait for spikey, or the neon god him self to tell us the anwer

I think I understand what you mean... you mean run the pipe straight to the back or bottom of the car without having the dual tips... the answer is yes you can do that. Some of the guys at the track who were making 350+ hp actually refused to put the stock SRT-4 dual McDonald's-lookin pipe back on their car. They thought maybe the double-bends would restrict some of their exhaust flow. Food for thought I guess.

as long as you have something on there (cat by itself or with soething) you should be fine. the srt rear section is just pipes so it doesnt really add any back pressure

Yeah it would be so loud and the glasspack is to tame your ride down so the cops wont bug you or anyone else. Im running the srt with a nice glasspack and love it . Ive actually have used it in 3 ways . Just the tips section than with the resantors and now the glasspack.

yeah ii have no muffler at all...just cat and pipe.....runs fine...i actually tried to add some steel wool into the pipe (homemade remedy for a busted muffler)...and apparently added too much becuz it slowed me down so i just took it back out...the cat is apparently enough backpressure...

Thats because the stock SRT-4 catback exhaust sucks as far as performance goes...a stock R/T exhaust performs better in comparison.
