wait they wont? i'm sure they would fit in a 03or up, or would they?

I dont think they fit any 2gn neon (atleast not with the stock rims/ tiresthey wont) srt-4 perches sit higher up on the strut allowing for more room. reg neons perches sit low i think all 2nd gens have the same strut so no it would fit. And in reply to banging the ish out of the pershes ive read that you barely have to move em, just like half an inch or less , but id just go with the smaller tires.

Yeah, but there is a thread on 2gn forum showing what the correct size on an srt rim looks like. The 205-40-17. OH god it looks like ****.

The car really needs to be slammed for it to look right. Does the perch really not need to be modified that much?

donvier : yea they can be used but neons just dont look that good at stock hieght.
Adonik: I dunno i think the thicker tires look ugly lol thats why id go with the 40 series.
I got the info about mod. the perches on 2gn.org they said it just needs to moved like a half inch if that .

Yeah I read that. I also heard from an srtforum member that a 5mm space did the trick good. Might just do that, i'm not sure. we'll see and i'll post back.

Any Neon can run SRT-4 rims (aside from those very few 4-lug 1st Gens) with a 40 or 45 series tire.

I've heard of some people who have got it to work with spacers, but I have also heard of people going through long ordeals trying to use them with no success. To minimize hassle and for the sake of having a guaranteed solution without damaging the suspension in anyway I have decided to go with the smaller tires. I've heard that 205/40/17 and 215/40/17 will fit the rims without any rubbing. The stock tires definitely looked nice but they were a little too big anyway (made it look a little monster truckish).

If anybody wants the stock srt-4 tires then contact me. They are 205/50/17 goodrich gforce tires. They were lightly used for 3 months and still look brand new.
