140-160 HP?
Caliber SRT-4 is supposed to be out in September of this year...power has been reduced to 280HP/260TQ because of the "destructive wheel hop". Good luck modding a car that Dodge cant even safely add power too...

The sti is sold sosad so I guess I will be waiting now on the caliber srt4 . So maybe I can mod that beast from stock and stage 3 it and other mods .

September I will have to check it out its either that or the new purple r/t charger . Very funny pt but the caliber srt4 can be staged and who knows what its going to be like until you test drive it .
Dont ever trust what a dealership tells you about their products. As for the Neon Stage kits working on the Caliber, the engine is totally different, as are the transmissions and drivetrains...while the Caliber will use a similar, if not the same TD04 turbocharger, a Stage 1 kit would practically be a downgrade if you put it on the Caliber, and a Stage 2 would give you minimal power gains. Not to mention SRT engineers were having issues (DESTRUCTIVE WHEEL HOP!) with this car as 300HP, which is why they reduced power down to 280HP...how do you think it will react to adding back more power?
Well just have to see what mods come out for the engine and what aftermarket turbos come out for it . It should be intersting anyways . Nobody liked the neon or srt4 before they came out same way with the caliber srt4 . From what I can see of it I really like the looks way better than a pt cruiser.
to the destructive wheel hot issue... nothing a little stiffening up wont fix, just like on any other car. The reason why dodge doesn't fix it is reallly to do with the pencil pushers. Dodge could def change up the motor mounts, but that would cost the company money and more than likely SRTare already at the top of thier budget limit.
i wouldn't worry about the wheel hop...

Well, back when the 2nd-gen Neons were first test-driven by the publicists, they were complaining about wheel-hop too just with the SE and SXT's... so I don't know how seriously I'd take the "wheel hop" excuse. It could be for insurance or cost reasons why they backed off to 280hp (or even reliability or EPA regulations). If you asked me, the Federal government just raised EPA and MPG standards again, so backing off to 280 hp was probably more for political reasons than anything else.
As far as parts between the "Neon" SRT4 and the Caliber SRT4 being interchangeable.... nope, probably not a single one. Definitely nothing in the motor will be interchangeable. The motor will be either the 2.4 or 2.7-liter World Engine, which is a brand new motor, with no legacy or generational ties to the previous 2.4's. It would be like saying the new 2.4 is the same as a Porsche 2.4, just because it says "2.4 liters." I would guess that the only thing in the Caliber that might be interchangeable with the previous SRT4 would be the bulbs in the headlights or the body bolts (maybe).
