Hey guys I will be receiving my white faced gauge cluster FINALLY after a long search for them I finally found a cluster with slightlymore miles than my car has. I just had a couple of quick questions, at night when the gauges are lit, do they light up the same as the black cluster or do the white facesactually light up, I'm thinking it just lights up the same as the black boring gauges, (just the numbers in green)? If not, is there anyway to make the white actually light up, my gf's dad has a newer Corolla and his gauges look really nice with the white facelighting up along with the numbers at night. Also I want to replace the bulbs to coloredLEDs and not sure what color to go with, I have a red car, but don't really want to go with red LEDs, how do you guys think white LEDs would look (that is if the white on the gauge does not glow)? any suggestions are awesome and appreciated, I just want to do everything at once and I should be receiving my gauge cluster this week...THANKS!!! o ya which led size would i need anyway

 

you can see that the guages are white at night, but the white itself does not light up not can you make it

 

I did the swap too... from the black faced SE gauges to the white faced SXT gauges w/tach...

Hard to describe how the white lights up... I know the numbers light up blue like "indaglow"

maybe I can snap a pic and post it, don't know how i would come out...

 

hmmm wow i feel slow i always thought all the neons had white guages lol my es came with them... hopefully soon ill be able to change them to my custom ones ive just been too lazy lol the white doesnt light up just the numbers but u can still tell its white even in the dark from the lights in the numbers bouncin off it.

 

did you mean "no you can't make it" mikey? so do you guys think white would look good or even show up well, or should i just go with blue

 

actually i meant nor can you make it haha typing owns me. the numbers will not light up white with thire bulbs, they will light up blue because of the film, but ive heard it looks good because you keep your redline and stuff

 

i'm assuming you lose the redline if youchange out the LEDs to blue?

 

yup, but if you just put white leds in, you will have blue guages with a redline that looks good

 

is there anyone here or anywhere that you have seen it done with white LEDs, all i have seen is blue?

 

the white will turn out blue. there is a blue film on all the guages, but the bulbs that light up are filament and glow yellow sso yellow+blue=green lights. take out the yellow and you have blue. ive seen pix and it came out good. or just keep the green
