battery replace???

Default battery replace???

ok i had my battey replace bit then they notice the battery had a wierd cover and sensor that didnyt allow the battery to fit rght, so the guy just cut the one pannel out so it would if, is that battery senser thing and bag important will doing that damage my car???

its a temp sensor, i wouldnt cut it, it may have wiring throughout it. i guess you can just fold it and have it against the back

nah, i'm sure it wont make that big a deal, just have it against it to be safe

That cover and sensor tell the PCM what the battery temp is so that it modifies the alternator output to regulate the charge rate and prolong the life of the battery.

Just so you know, the cover is the battery warmer and it does a few things. One, it helps protect the battery from high temperatures under the hood. Second, it helps "warm" the battery slightly because a cold battery has a higher internal resistance as opposed to a warm battery. Third, the battery temp sensor thats plugged into the back of the warmer is used to monitor the battery temperature by the PCM so it can adjust voltage, battery charging rate, etc...
