Default K&N Filter, heat shield vs. filter cover.....

i am lookin into gettin the K&N filter because i need a new one, is this the right one....http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,.../selectZip.htm
and will it fit theeGAY CAI TUBE without any prob? any places to get it any cheaper or is that usually what they run? Also, i was looking into getting a heat shield or filter cover because of my experience with water loving my intake lol. I don't mind spending the money so long that it gets the job done. Which would keep the filter from gettin wet better.....the heat shield....http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Air-...31_p-32461.htm, or the filter cover....http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Air-...231_p-2574.htm. THANKS!

filter looks right. should fit the tube, thats what a hose clamp is for. its also made from rubber so it stretches a little bit. dont get a shield or anything for it because it is a waste of money. the only way water will be sucked up is if it is COMPLETELY submerged in water, which you sholdnt be driving through that deep water anyway. just driving in the rain wont do anything bad to it. the car wont suck in the water drops at even a high rpm which has a lot of suction, but even if it could, which it cant lol, you shouldnt be pushing your car in the rain anyway

I will have to agree with mickeyon this subject . K&N filter is the best you can go with though.

...and punctuation is good for run on sentences.

I pulled the lid off the stock airbox - holy cow what a difference in sound... Can't say there's much performance difference though, but throttle response does seem a tad more 'immediate' - but it could be me just playing 1000rpms higher than normal.

Is it more ideal to atleast run the box without the top of the lid than say no lid at all? I completely took out the box.

Bad?

I dont think it really matters...I've seen some people just take the lid off, and I've seen some people just connect the filter right onto the throttle body....

I'm so curious to see what the KN drop in does. I hear soooo much about it...you'd think it was a turbo
