so i need accordin to this people i need the radiator system flush with new antifreeze but they want like $80 to do it.. so
anyone let me know how i can do it myself and what kind of antifreeze i should use? whats the best or it doesnt matter?
to flush your radiator...there is a drain plug on the bottom...so of course unplug it...let all the crap drain out and then what i usually do is use a water hose and spray out the inside of the radiator best as possible...if you have any radiator flush it will have instructions on how to use it just make sure you put the plug back before you put it in...then when its all done you have to fill the radiator back up with half water and half antifreeze....the i believe all the 2nd gens use the newer red antifreeze but Prestone makes antifreeze that they claim can mix with any kind and color any car anything
unplug the plug drain and put a hose in with the engine running and let run till nothing but clear water runs out then shut off the engine and folloe the instructiond on the bottle. Do not use full strength coolant or it will eat the crap out of your hoses and other internal parts always mix it according to season. If you were told you need a flush trust me 80 is better than replacing a part that will fail if you dont do the flush i.e. the engine.
I just got a new radiator cause mine was wreaked in the accident so lucky me since she now has 90 thousand miles on her also have a brand new air condioner and alternator and at least 3 belts . But I would also have to flush out mine if I didnt have a new one .
