how are you doing?
i was wondering why dose my 2001 dodge neon make this noise
it sounds like belts smaking a motor and **** and stuff but it sounds bad help

i got a 2001 dodge neon es and the sound only is noticed at idle?

Check to make sure all the belts are tight to start.

no my belts seem to be all tight but i dont know like the noise wasnt there when i bought it from the dealer. but something is wrong with the car like the timing is off some one told me it was but i dont see it.
the sound seems to come from teh timing belt but i am not sure like if i sit at idle and leave the ac on the sound gets LOUD
i just wanna get this fixed before its to late

ok newbe i have a question first. did u buy this car at jeff dambrosios used car lot? because a week or so ago i took a 2001 neon home from there and it started makin noises it wasnt makin when i test drove it. it made the noises at idle and went away when i gave it gas. i found out there was a bad bearing on the bottom end of the engine and took teh car back and they sold it off later tht week. let me know

now the problem i have is i installed a short ram intake in so
now what demand it gets fixed?

well u will need a new bottom end or a new engine. so you bought it at jeff dambrosio in downingtown? for $4995 special?

yes and i took it back the same day and told danny rivera about ti and said to put better gass in it that the gas in the car was ethier no good or somethng this pisses me off man
cuz theres that belt smacking sound and then the low iidle acceleration metal rattling sound from the engine bay
