Default Sentry....any way to bypass?

Is there any way possible to bypass the sentry on our cars other than going to the dealer? I only have one key that I got from the stealership and I'm afraid if i lose it, I'll be screwed.....don't really wanna pay the stealership for another one as i know i will get ripped lol

nope... can't do it. The FSM says to use the "Customer Learn" Mode you need two valid keys already programmed. This prevents you from buying a key and doing it yourself. Its dealer or nothing...

lol damn. this goes back to my cluster, i have the day off today and tomorrow and am gonna try to install it again. is there anything else you can think of that would cause the cluster not to work? i'm not even sure its the sentry just trying to figure this damn problem out. could my "aftermarket" alarm be the cause?

I got a bypass module from www.commandocaralarms.com but to be honest, you can make one yourself except i'm lazy ... basically what it does is that it requires you to have your key in your car at all times i hide mine somewhere around (not telling) so that the wires basically connects your key's chip to the ignition and you can just use a regular key. Make sure you put your sentry key somewhere where you need to open a few screws to get access to... otherwise someone can just come in and pull your key out and drive it away. another way is to basically cut the key off from the chip so that you only have the chip... that way if someone do find a way to get to your hidden sentry key then they only have the chip but not the key itself. I have one in mine so that i can remote start my car.

If it is that same cluster you posted about, i still think its junk... If you cluster works fine there is no reason why the other won't work. the only think stored in the cluster is the milage, nothing else... no sentry no nothing. As mentioned the before the cluster looks for a signal whether or not to illuminate the sentry light, but will have no effect on the car starting.

that i didn't know lol. so then regardless of what key i have, the damn thing should work right? it doesnt matter that on my original cluster that works, the sentry light turns on briefly then turns off while in the "ON" position, and on the white gauge cluster, it just blinks when the key is in the "ON" position

yes and no... yes to the cluster, no to the car running The cluster doesn't care wich key you use, the computer does.
