are kyb-gr2 struts good for lowering

Struts don't exactly lower your car. Springs or coil-overs would do that.

yes exactly.... will i be able to put lowering springs on them for a good combo

They can, but the Tokico HP Blues will be a better option for a lowered 2nd Gen.

The KYB GR-2's will hold up slightly better then OEM replacement struts. If you want struts that will last under the stress of lowered suspension, then spend your money the right way and purchase the Tokico HP Blues.
