That's kind of like saying an SRT-8 isn't a Charger. Or an SRT-10 not a Ram because it has a Viper motor.

 

Alot of srt4 owners and I will agree they call their srt4 a 3rd gen neon . Srt4s dont even come close to being a 2nd gen . They arent in our class. 1st gen is 95-99 and 2nd gen is 00-05 sxt, r/t or se and srt4s are 3rd gens.

Yeah most srt4 owners say 3rd gen neons and not a 2nd gen neon . I believe that also since I use to own a acr srt4. Our 2nd gen neons and a srt4 arent even in the same class. Yeah they are based on the neon but our 2nd gen neons arent even close to what srt4s are speed beasts.

Hella-holy-*********, after reading this entire thread, I'm glad I took a break from the forum! Where's Rodney when ya need him? lol...

While I was gone I swapped out the factory head unit with a new Pioneer and I was surprised that the $7 WalMart dash kit actually fit painlessly like a glove... then Iput some bump in the trunk the next day (12" in a sealed box)... now my car will probably fall apart even quicker.

My husband made me sell her because of the expense and the addicition of modding . Mainly becasue I got two speeding tickets in one week with the acr even though it doesnt have the speed of my 1st gen hahn turboed neon .The 1st gen neon hasnt been drivin for a yr . We have the 1st gen in storage 3 1/2 hrs away.

 

The generation is decided by the body style. It's a 2nd gen no matter what you think it is. An SRT-10 in a totally different class than a regular Ram, but it's still the same generation due to the body style.
