Im going to the strip tonight and running my car....Ive never done it before can yall give me some pointers really really fast...

Don't burn out. You don't have enough power to need to warm up your tires. When you go up toget staged there will be 2 sets of yellow lights.All 4 need to be lit up to be staged. Pull forward slowlyuntil they're all lit up.Hold theclutch inand press the gas and get your RPM's up around 3,000. When it's about to hit green let off theclutch and floor it. Also watch the people before you for a while and get an idea how the tree works (tree is the thing with the lights).

And make sure to listen to the staff there. They'll tell you if something is wrong.

well i finally gotmy 2ndchance to run at the track . learned something neweach run. 1rst run i ran a 16.001 wich slower then my previos visit there.2nd run i ran a 15.550 with a .900 r/t . bad launch but e/t was better. b4 my third one some told me i was running to much psi in my front tires (40psi) so i lowered them to 20 psi.i ran a 15.313 @ 90.99 with r/t of .598 wich was my best time so far. last run i f***ed my shift into 5th and coasted a 16.01 and was eliminated[:@]. This was done in the civic by the way. by the end of the night i added a 07? monte carlo and svt focus to my kill list and able hold my own witha chevelle ( i think) lol some im happy
ive gathered som info of what ive learned tonight to help u guys out on ur first time. And hopefully u guys can add to it.
Lower tire to about 20psi or no lower then 15psi
If u have street tires dont do a burnout and skip the water box.
Go on the last yellow light, if u wait for the green u'll end up with a slower reaction time ( i think)
Theres something called preloading the suspension. its when u pull up onthe e-brake and slowly slip the clutch. u should feel it inguage wich would cause the car to "squat" in the back. its helps from keeping the weight from shifting to the back and puts less of a load on the transmission and axles.
anyone have any pointers they can add for my/other's nexttime on the track.




IS THIS TELLING ME TO SKIP THE BURNOUT BOX

i have a manual.....i dont think i can rev it to 3000 and just hold the brake and the clutch in neutral at the same time...??????so if i get this correct drop the clutch at 3000 and try not to burnout???

Didn't read yourcar specs. Just edited it for Manual transmission.

what about 3500 or 4000 rpm .... i just dont want a really awful sluggish start guys!??!?!

With the little amount of power you have you don't really need to warm up your tires. If you watch the professional racers they nearly red-line their cars and just drop the clutch. But then again they have high performance clutches and transmissions.

If you notice that you're losing traction at the start go ahead and burn out to warm up your tires.
