i currently have a 2000, and a 96 neon.
i want to get a new car thats like the neon, however... there are none. so i figure a good used neon might be best. I know nothing about the newer neons, say 2004 and up. are they just like the other gen2 years, other than the headlights and some interior color differences. are they the same quality mechanicaly?

i was thinking of getting a colbalt, but i cant find one person that has anything good to say about them, even owners.

so, can you guys give me the thumbs up on a 2004 or newer neon? this one will be an auto, cuz all my others are manuals, and im getting old. LOL

 

i have an 04 neon with 34000 miles on it and i have no problems with it whatsoever. i keep regular maintenence on it, and it runs fine. i havent heard about any ongoing problems with them at all. the differences on 03+ neons opposed to 00-02 besides body styles is there is a new computer running the motor, which seems to work fine. i have an auto and its holding up fine so far, so ill give it 2 thumbs up. on the cobalt thing though, i havent heard anything wrong with them, then again i havent been listening for it, but i do know that used car lots are beign littered with them, so there has to be something going wrong.

wasn't there a post about the 02 or 03 and up auto trans' being better...they are like a 4 speed instead of a 3 speed?

 

yes that it true.. they are a 4 speed (4th is overdrive)

i picked up a 2005 sxt with 16k miles on it the other day. its really clean and nice. atx tranny and all that jazz. its inferno redcrystal pearlcoat. ive gotten many compliments and most peeps think its brand new. i'll get some pics when i can.

It was messed up enought getting the blaze red, thinking it was flame red... when those lip kits went on sale...

my bad, if yer talkin about a custom color tho...

 

nice u ohh kool dude u got a nice car, nice color, low miles and very economic congrats u wont regret it so how much u payin for it?

 

RED is da way to go, im not banging on anyone but i like my Flame red neon, i want to get a paint job but i dont want to loose da color.
