Horse Power of the neons
I see alot of people on here talking about how much HP there cars are putting out, seems everyone is saying less than 130. Have you guys been on a dyno to come to these conclusions? I guess Dodge is fibbing when they say the 05 sxt comes off theline with 132 HP, before any exhaust or intake upgrades. I swear mine feels alot stronger than the 120 to 130 most of you say your getting, maybe its just me. But I dont have the money to waste on a dyno to find out.
This is a link I found with specs for the 05 sxt

Problem is you are referring to crank horsepower which is nothing but a marketing scheme. Wheel horsepower is real world power. Take your crank horsepower and try to image the what actually makes it to the wheels after drivetrain loss and accessory loss.
Now the question is, have you been to the "Big Let Down" to see what your making?

The auto neons suffer REALLY bad accesseries and drive train loss, specifically thanks to that slushbox auto. I am happy enough to be pushing 125 when, if I had a MTX I would be getting so much more!!!!
I say mine has 132 but I know that is crank. I got mine dynoed for free and it was 121.2 horsepower at the wheels bone stock, not even any bolt-ons. It might feel like more becuase of the weight of our cars but thats it.

The only two Dodge vehicles that actually had their real world output on all the marketing and literature are the Dodge Viper and Neon SRT-4...
But I heard somewhere that there are some new regulations that are going to require all the car makers to list the wheel horsepower in amrketing and literature. I dont know how true or how strict its going to be though...
