Default 40-45 mph shimmy?

My steering wheel was shaking at highway speeds and they told me it was because I used Fixaflat in my right front tire.

So I replaced the right front tire. Now the steering wheel doesn't shake at highway speeds, but when I'm accelerating from 40-45 mph I feel a slight shaking or shimmy as i accelerate. Not in the steering wheel, morelike the front end of thecar. Sometimes it's barely noticeable (I can tell because of a bottle of water in my cup holder), it seems to be more intense when I'm accelerating uphill.

My thoughts:
I noticed that I have weights on three of my tires, but not on the fourth, could that have something to do with it?

Could one or moreof my tires still be out of balance?

My car was hit on theleft front at 15-25mph,the tie rod and the rack and pinion were damaged and replaced, the control arm was scratched, but didn't look damaged enough to replace.Ifthe control armwere slightly off, could that account for the shimmy?

I had the dodge dealership inspect themotor mounts, they didn't tell me anything was wrong.

It's not a bad shimmy, barely noticable. But I'd rather find out what's causing it and get it taken care of than risk it becoming more noticable in the future.

Any input would be helpful.

probably your tires are nor balanced. usually when they are not balanced you will get a shaking but you can drive through it. if the alignment is out it will get worse with more speed

Thanks for the info. I'm glad it's not a problem with the car.

I hate to jack a thread, but you are absolutly right!!! I miss the "Back in the day" rap/hip-hop... although, check out the official wu-tang site...http://www.wutang-corp.com/ tons of free song downloads and info on the new releases:

RZA has put all the rumors to rest like a baby who’s just been fed. In recent interviews he’s told reporters that some of the Wu-Tang Clan members, including Ghostface, hadn’t yet recorded vocals for the upcoming 8 Diagrams LP. Last week in New York, though, the Abbot said there’s no need for alarm: Everybody has finally been accounted for.

“Yeah, yo,†he said about his brothers’ participation in the project. “Oh, this is a Wu-Tang Clan album. It ain’t like no solo album — everybody is poppin’ on this. It’s scheduled for an October 23 release.â€
