The IAT Sensor is a Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) Sensor that provides information to the PCM regarding the temperature of the air entering the intake manifold. Although specific sensor specs aren't detailed, you may have been beyond the operational limit of the circuit. The code will clear after 40 drive cycles without another fault.
