Default I hate to say it!!!!

I hate to say it but everyone on the caravan forum is a bunch of redneck non mechanically inclined souls!! and I can say that since I grew up in Alabama!! But anyway. I'll ask my question here, dont laugh at me since its a minivan question. But I figured since they are both dodge I figure the electronics should be related say to the 05 neon. Sometimes on startup the guages will all peg out and then slowly return to normal, and all thenormal readouts will come on. usually about 5 secs after ignition. Im wondering if this is an indication of a problem or wht. maybe I just need to reset the cluster as I have read in some of the neon posts, but the neon post seem to be for the guages pegged out and stuck. just wondering if anyone hd experienced the same problem in their neon.? thanks

Have the gauges always done this or is it soemthing thats just beens tarting? It sounds like what our gauges do when you run the diagnostic on them, they go to max incrementally then slowly return to normal...

it just started recently, maybe a week ago. no diagnostics have been done on it, unless dealer did it when they changed oil last, which was like a week before it started.

sounds far fetched, but I wonder if the Caravan gauges "plug-in" at the back like the Neon gauges do? ..unlikely, but maybe you could just open the dash, pull-out, then push back in the gauge cluster to the plug (?) ... like I said, probably a long shot.

I have a 96 Caravan that I bought brand new. Never had that problem, but once in a while, in the gear indicator display, when I'm in park, all the positions are "circled" or indicated... but when I put in in drive, goes back to normal and only the "D" is circled.

get in your neon and turn the ignition in the on position while holding down the odometer reset... tell me if it does the same as your van.
